Here you will find out which different jeans cuts are available, which fit fits your figure and what the right care for your jeans looks like.
Straight leg: the straight line
Men's straight leg jeans, also known as regular jeans, are cut straight in the area between the knees and ankles. This fit gives the jeans a simple look. Due to the straight cut, the trouser legs fit loosely over shoes with a high shaft, such as stylish mens winter boots.
Another advantage: The straight leg shape visually stretches your legs - good if you want to look a little bigger. As a classic among jeans, straight leg jeans are suitable for many figure types. These jeans look good for athletic and slim as well as small and tall men.
Slim-Fit: the slim one
In mens slim-fit jeans, the legs are cut narrow throughout. This fit not only emphasizes a trained buttocks, but also muscular thighs and calves. Such models are particularly good for slim and small men. The narrow cut compresses the ends of the trouser legs on the shoes. Carded slim fit trousers look particularly stylish with mens sneakers that reach down to the ankles.
Skinny fit: the figure-hugging
In men's skinny jeans, also called skinny jeans, not only the thigh and buttocks are emphasized, also the calves and ankles. The effect: your legs look longer overall. The tight fitting of the pants suits very slim men who like a figure-hugging look. Thanks to the elastane content, the jeans sit comfortably and give you plenty of freedom of movement despite the tight cut.
Loose-fit: the loose one
Loose-fit jeans are characterized by a casual cut and a comfortable leg width. Mens loose-fit jeans sit very loosely and comfortably on the waistband, they are also cut wider on the thighs, while they narrow at the hem. The wide-cut trousers are often worn by slightly stronger, sporty and tall men.
Tapered jeans: the casual one
Wide fitting on the hips, buttocks and thighs, paired with wedge-shaped legs: These are tapered jeans in which you look casual and enjoy plenty of freedom of movement. The combination of baggy pants and carrot pants does not sit at the waist compared to classic carrot pants, but loosely on the hips. This cut is particularly suitable for small men with strong thighs and a rounded buttocks.
Tips: How to find the right jeans size
Jeans sizes are given either in clothing sizes or in inches, the American unit of measurement. One inch corresponds to approximately 2.54 cm. The first number of the size indicates the waist size (W), the second the length (L). So that you don't have to try your hand at the different jeans sizes every time, it is helpful to know your own jeans size. You determine them in three steps.
Measure waist circumference: The waist circumference indicates the waist size of your jeans. To do this, place the measuring tape approximately at the level of your navel. Measure stride length: Have a second person measure the inside of your legs from the sole of the foot to the crotch. Determine the size of the jeans: Divide the measured values by 2.54 each and you get your waist size and your inseam in centimeters.
Even if jeans expand and wide by time, you should make sure when buying that the pants are not too tight, squeeze or pinch. Due to the excessive tension, the side seams of the jeans are strained, the pants lose their fit and become misshapen. The waistband should only be so close to the body that you can easily open and close the button.
Five tips and tricks: How to clean your jeans
Your jeans accompany you on your daily adventures and therefore deserve proper care. Read here with which tricks you have something from your favorite companion for as long as possible.
Basically, you should not wash your jeans after each wear, but only if you have worn them four to five times, otherwise they will lose in color and fit. Jeans with a high stretch content should be in the machine after about two weeks to restore their tight fit.
To get rid of bad smells, hang the jeans on the balcony for ventilation or while showering in the bathroom. The steam removes odors from the fabric. Alternatively, you can put them in the freezer for a few hours. This kills bacteria and germs and makes the pants fresh again. You can remove individual stains with a damp sponge or a toothbrush and a little washing-up liquid.
Before washing, turn the jeans inside out and wash them at a maximum of 30 ° C with mild or color detergent. The speed should not exceed about 1,000 rotations, otherwise the fabric will be heavily stressed. Wash jeans of the same color together and do not pack the washing machine too full to avoid streaks and creases.
After washing, let the jeans dry in the fresh air. The dryer is putting too much strain on the material.
